| Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB) is engaged in four separate market segments, commercial ship repair, shipbuilding and new Construction, Naval ship refits and new vessel construction. Our recently completedshipyard in the Mussafah industrial area of Abu Dhabi has seven wet berths; nine open air dry berths; two 85-metre long ship construction assembly halls with full services; three enclosed ship construction and overhaul sheds with full services; fabrication and machine shops; outfitting shops; electronics/hydraulics clean shop; environmentally controlled blast and paint cells; grit blasting; water blasting; and Classification Society qualified welding. Vessels are lifted or launched via two shiplift systems: a Syncrolift with side transfer system capable of handling vessels 85-metres in length, 20-metres in width and weighing up to 2000 tonnes; and a Travelift for vessels of 500-tonnes and below. Between 1996 and 2003, ADSB built and delivered forty (40) new vessels for various military and commercial customers and at the start of year 2004, the Company has a backlog of another sixty-three (63) vessels under contract including a major navy project for Corvettes. Our recently launched ships include Troop carriers, Landing craft suitable for a range of missionsas well as the more adaptable high speed assault boat for coast guard and navy use. For the support of offshore activities our Tug boats and Suction dredgers have become popular with a number of regional operators. The company was formed in 1996 and has grown steadily since then receiving attention in the International press and marketing department regularly issue news releases.
